This is our health and nutrition programme accessible for all students and their families. Under
Aarogya, we provide freshly cooked breakfast & lunch every day. A weekly Out Patient Department
(OPD) is run in the school by Dr Nandita Chakraborty. Lotus Petal Foundation also runs a
monthly health camp on the first Sunday of every month that is open to the entire community.
It includes facilities for eye testing, pathology and lab work. Over 2,000 people have been
treated during the camp.
Pratishthan Learning Centre
Pratishthan Learning Centre is the secondary school section of Lotus Petal that runs from Grade
6 to Grade 12.
Students who join the Pratishthan program are mostly those who are lagging behind in the education
system by a few years due to a fractured education. Students are put on a fast track program
to complete their grade 6 to 10 in 3 years, so that they can complete grade 10 at the appropriate
age. The medium of education is English and curriculum is based on the NCERT prescribed syllabus.
Students move on to professional courses or jobs based on vocational skills.
This is our K - 5 primary school where underprivileged children come and learn for free. At Vidyananda, we believe in nourishing
the roots through a strong primary education. This is crucial to ensure that children flourish
in higher grades, and eventually in a professional or vocational setting. The emphasis is
towards imparting quality education, and moulding a solid foundation in the fundamentals
that gear them for mainstream life. The primary curriculum is as prescribed by NCERT.
No Poverty. We truly believe that the work at Lotus Petal brings us closer to the primary UN objective on ending poverty.
It is our endeavour to help the coming generation lead a more equable life than their
Zero hunger. We provide fresh cooked breakfast and lunch to each child and supporting staff in school.
Good Health & well-being. Regular OPD, blood work/BMI/Height/Weight testing, deworming, checking vaccinations, access to
a psychological councillor promotes preventative well being to our school children.
Quality education is at the core of everything we do at Lotus Petal Foundation.
Gender Equality. Girls match the steps of boys, separate toilets, regular gender talks and a curriculum that promotes gender
equality is at the centre of all things Lotus Petal.
Clean Water & Sanitation. The school campus is equipped with a water purification plant and boasts of clean toilets and washbasins
for our staff and students. Children are trained to wash their hands with soap and water
several times during the day.
