Outreach Program

Before the inception of the Lotus Petal Foundation, our founder Kushal volunteered at the special boys' home at DEEPASHRAM, Mother Teresa’s Home for the Destitute in Gurugram. It is a secure abode for orphaned or abandoned boys. Some boys have mental and neurological disorders while others are physically disabled. Over the years, in an effort to encourage our outreach programs, Lotus Petal Foundation has found ways to help ease the pressure on the staff of DEEPASHRAM by providing innovative gadgets in the kitchen and other areas. We have also arranged for various medical devices and wearable technology that have enabled the boys with special needs to lead a better quality of life. Lotus Petal Foundation runs INDRADHANUSH, a guided art program for the special boys. Some paint with their feet, a few just enjoy holding the brush and some prefer dabbing colors freely. The idea was to help these children heal and feel confident of their motor skills, but the indirect benefit is also that the boys catch a break from their mundane rountine, soothe themselves and find an outlet of joy in creativity and restful art. The boys show a lot of affection to their teacher and their art gives us a glimpse into their minds.

Digital India

We are a proud partner of Government of India’s National Digital Literacy Mission. The objective of the program is to provide free, basic computer education to 1,000 people. Participants undergo a 20-hour course after which they appear for an online examination conducted by the government. Successful participants are awarded an e-Certificate. We work closely with blue collar workers in the community, factory workers, NGO organizations and gated communities to provide this facility.
