This is our health and nutrition program accessible for all students and their families.
In Hindi, Aarogya means wellness. The objective of this program is to create a foundation of basic health and immunity. Under Aarogya, we provide freshly cooked breakfast and lunch every day. A weekly Out Patient Department (OPD) is run in the school by Dr Nandita Chakraborty. Specialist medical intervention like visits to the dentist and dermatologist are organized and a specially designed physical and mental fitness program is implemented across grades.
Lotus Petal Foundation also runs a monthly health camp open to the entire community on the first Sunday of every month. It includes facilities for eye testing, pathology and lab work. Over 3,000 people have been treated during the camp.
Under Aarogya Wellness, students learn to grow their own food, make a compost pit and understand the nuances of gardening through the in-house urban farm. This creates an interest in nutrition and enables them to make better food choices.
Over 60,000 meals were served in the year 2015-16 to all our students for breakfast and lunch.
